First Mother's Day

May is always such a busy month for us---first comes our anniversary, then Mother's Day, then Harper's birthday and mine a few days later. It's a whirlwind of a month but I love it!

On Friday we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary with dinner at Eddie V's. It was absolutely delicious--- we both had steaks, truffle mac n' cheese and asparagusfollowed by bananas foster (unbelieveable- you must order it if you go!) It was so nice to go out and have some us time.

Saturday morning I woke up and was quite sicknot sure if I had a stomach bug or if it was the food but it was not good.  I also had a sore throat on one side but I chalked it up to allergies and took a zyrtec.

I started to feel better as the morning went on and was able to make it to the photo shoot for Willow Crowns at Megan's house.
When we got home from the shoot, my throat started to hurt more and more and I just felt unwell. I took a nap and later on that night I picked up some medicine to try to get better. At this point, I'm down to two pumps at day so I'm just pumping and dumping so I can take drugs that aren't recommended for breastfeeding moms.

This morning I woke up and I was pretty foggy. I continued to feel unwell and really tired today. I had a little coffee and tried my best to be chipper but I knew my body needed to rest. Thankfully Harper went down for a nice nap and we ended up sleeping for at least an hour and a half. Then we woke up and got ready to go to brunch.

Kevin took all of us plus my in-laws to Benjy's for Mother's Day brunch.
(Harper eats green beans like they are candy---it's hilarious!)
We also got the chance to take some Mother's Day photos---so glad we snapped these before we headed out for brunch!
When we got home from brunch, Kevin gave me two cards, one from him and one from Harper. I couldn't believe it when whe presented me with cards he designed online with pictures of Harper and me! It was so special, definitely got a little teary-eyed that he was so thoughtful. He also got me a giftcard to Trellis spa. It will be so nice to go there and relax one weekend!
I had such an amazing first Mother's Day. I feel so lucky that God brought Harper into our lives. Thank you for making me a mama, Harper.

The Perfect Gift for Mother's Day- Tiny Tags Personalized Necklaces

This upcoming Mother's Day will be my very first and that is so exciting and special! Becoming a mother had been the biggest blessing I could ever imagine (and also the  greatest challenge). My sweet little Harper is almost one now and we've had an incredible year together of loving, learning and joy.

As you all know, I love wearing jewelry with an "H" for Harper's name, so I was delighted when Melissa from Tiny Tags contacted me about their jewelry line which "celebrates the love in our lives." That's truly the best way to define the line because it's all about wearing a symbol of the people you love around your neck.

I browsed the collection and picked out the mini dog and circle tag necklace in gold. I paired it with their 18-inch gold ball chain and I absolutely love it and have been wearing in nonstop since it arrived.

The dog tag has Harper's name on the front and her birth date engraved on the back and the circle tag has an "H" on the front and a "K" on the back for my husband, Kevin. I just love the meaning you can put into this special piece of jewelry.
This is a wonderful Mother's day gift---and it also makes a special birthday gift or gift for a new mom. You can also add names as you grow your family.

You can check out the Tiny Tags Mother's Day gift ideas page here.
Melissa has generously offered a 15% discount on your purchase to all of my readers using the code "moms14" at checkout.

She is also giving away one tag 24 k gold necklace.  You can enter below via rafflecopter and I will announce the winter on my IG account. All you have to do to enter is to follow @tinytags on Instagram.
