On Friday we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary with dinner at Eddie V's. It was absolutely delicious--- we both had steaks, truffle mac n' cheese and asparagusfollowed by bananas foster (unbelieveable- you must order it if you go!) It was so nice to go out and have some us time.
Saturday morning I woke up and was quite sicknot sure if I had a stomach bug or if it was the food but it was not good. I also had a sore throat on one side but I chalked it up to allergies and took a zyrtec.
I started to feel better as the morning went on and was able to make it to the photo shoot for Willow Crowns at Megan's house.
When we got home from the shoot, my throat started to hurt more and more and I just felt unwell. I took a nap and later on that night I picked up some medicine to try to get better. At this point, I'm down to two pumps at day so I'm just pumping and dumping so I can take drugs that aren't recommended for breastfeeding moms.
This morning I woke up and I was pretty foggy. I continued to feel unwell and really tired today. I had a little coffee and tried my best to be chipper but I knew my body needed to rest. Thankfully Harper went down for a nice nap and we ended up sleeping for at least an hour and a half. Then we woke up and got ready to go to brunch.
Kevin took all of us plus my in-laws to Benjy's for Mother's Day brunch.
(Harper eats green beans like they are candy---it's hilarious!)
We also got the chance to take some Mother's Day photos---so glad we snapped these before we headed out for brunch!
When we got home from brunch, Kevin gave me two cards, one from him and one from Harper. I couldn't believe it when whe presented me with cards he designed online with pictures of Harper and me! It was so special, definitely got a little teary-eyed that he was so thoughtful. He also got me a giftcard to Trellis spa. It will be so nice to go there and relax one weekend!
I had such an amazing first Mother's Day. I feel so lucky that God brought Harper into our lives. Thank you for making me a mama, Harper.
