I'm using the main colors from Harper's nursery--- mint green and gold --- paired with soft pink and lilac. I don't really have a "theme" for the party. I figure as she gets older her birthday parties can reflect her favorite things and interests, but for now, let's face it, first birthday parties are really for the parents (and hey, after making it through the first year of new parenthood, a celebration is in order!)
More than anything, I just want it to be a fun day for family and friends and most of all Harper and celebrating the joy she has brought to our lives. I'm sure she will just love cake if she's got a sweet tooth like her mama!
I'll admit I love having the excuse of a first birthday party to tackle some DIY party projects I've had pinned for awhile. I know I'm not alone here when I say that I've been looking forward to designing her party since I was pregnant!
