Sunday Snaps

Sundays tend to be lazy days for me, but today was full of cleaning. I have been on a cleaning/organization kick lately so I feverishly go through the house and clean and organize everything in my path.

Now, I'm taking a break and relaxing before I hit the gym for a workout (as if cleaning vigorously wasn't enough!)

I love a nice, clean bathroom countertop.

My MacBook keyboard cover finally came in.  I'm a little disappointed because it's not made for the newest MacBook air model, so it's not as tight over the keys as I'd like it to be, but it will do for now. Better to protect the laptop keys, even if it's a little more difficult to type.  When the new ones come out, I'll get one that's a perfect fit. Mine is by KB Covers.

I also cleaned out my closet today, because believe it or not, it was a mess. Stuff all over the floor, everything out of order. Sometimes, it just gets that way when I don't take the time to keep it organized.

It still shocks me to see how much color and how many prints I have in my closet...

...and how color little color I have in my shoe collection:

Hello black, nude and brown. Ha.  I'd love to get a pair of leopard print heels and also polka dot heels. I love these, by Kate Spade, but don't want to pay that price.

I still have to organize some of my drawers and throw away some stuff that's too old and tattered to wear. Hopefully I'll have the energy to do that tonight. What I do know is that H and Lulu definitely don't have the energy to help. This is their typical Sunday routine. Birds of a feather:

As I mentioned on my Facebook page, I have a fun fall fashion feature coming up on CultureMap...here is a little preview:

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Saturday Snaps & J.Crew Fitting Room Photos

This afternoon, we went to the Apple store to pick up my MacBook Air and get it all set up and that's where I'm blogging from right now.

It's been a major adjustment for me but overall I am getting the hang of it (sort of). I thought that having the close/minimize/maximize buttons on the opposite side would be my largest issue, but it's moreso just way finding and knowing how to navigate through it all. Thank God for Google.  Getting used to the track pad and the commands is particularly interesting.  I am also having to enlarge the font on the screen and I can't quite tell if my eyes are getting worse (probably) or if the original font size is just really teeny...

I was lucky today because I got to meet one of my readers, Sheryl and her husband Warren.  They were in Houston on a vacation so we decided to meet up for some lunch.  I love that I have such awesome readers!  We had yummy soup, salads and sandwiches at La Madeline and we were able to snap a quick photo together after lunch:

I think it's so lovely that my readers reach out to me and that I get to connect with some of you in person.  It's really fun to actually see and talk to someone face to face :)

Here are some more snaps from my Saturday:

(My Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings in turquoise- my favorite!)

Fitting Room Photos at J.Crew:

(Rugby Stripe Boatneck Top- buy it here, I also got it in black and white)

(Polka Dot scarf- got it on sale in store for $39.99, buy it here! I didn't get this striped Tippi but I may eventually because it's so cute!)

(Tippi Sweater in Polka Dot, buy it here)

I really love all of the pieces I got. All of the tops are a size small, for reference.

As I'm starting to think about fall, I took a look at my closet this morning and realized just how much color is in there. I love that fall doesn't mean that brights will go away---I think brights are just as fun in the fall and it will be fun to pair them with deeper, richer colors.

What are you most looking forward to about fall?  I won't lie, I am ready for cooler temperatures. Have a great weekend!

Weekend Snapshots

Just a quick weekend update post since my posting has been all over the place this week!  As you read in my last post, I was having major computer issues. I took my computer to the Microsoft store (which, BTW, has amazing customer service) and they told me that the hard drive was not the problem, it was the OS that crashed. So I'm going to retrieve my data to load onto my new computer.

I bit the bullet and got a MacBook Air.  I wanted a super lightweight, super fast machine that was easy to use for what I needed it for (blogging, photos, video).  It should be here in the next week or so.  I haven't purchased a new laptop in about 7 years so it was great to hear from everyone in my last post about their Mac experiences.

Here are a few snapshots from my weekend:

Our gorgeous Restoration Hardware Flatiron Collection dining table arrived---but it had a strange black tar stain on it (the tissue shows some pieces I was able to get off). It's a very small area, but you can still see it since the wood is so light (and once you notice it, you can't stop noticing it, sigh). Luckily, our RH rep is amazing and he is having them send us a replacement table (should have it in a week or so). I've kind of already gotten attached to this one, but when you pay so much for a table it really should be without flaws and the black stuff can't be completely removed. I will take photos when our new one is here. It's such a gorgeous piece and works perfectly in the space.

My hair is starting to fade again---but I kind of like how it all blends together. I think next time I'll dye the roots darker again and get more ombre (lighter color) towards the ends. I wanted to post a more true to life picture since in my outfit photos my hair looks a lot darker than it really is due to having to adjust the exposure and color of my photos. The photo above was not adjusted at all.

And here are my new J.Crew ballerina flats I wore to work Friday. I had to use some of my Stiletto Hardware insoles in them (thank you Kelly!) but they fit perfect with the inserts. Size down in these ones.

My Saturday morning started off with a workout with my trainer. This photo makes me realize I need to self-tan.  My workout most definitely involved my friend and I lifting and flipping over a massive black tire 30 times. What a way to kick-start our weekend!

Here I am right before heading out to have my laptop looked at.  For some reason I hated everything this weekend, clothing wise, and so I went for a super loose, super comfy, off-the-shoulder top.

IN LOVE with these bracelets sent to me by one of my readers,  Rachel.  She also sent me a gold one which I will show you all soon!  I love this double-decker bracelet...perfect arm candy for your work week or weekend---and super affordable too. You can check out Rachel's Etsy shop, Amour Couture, here.

My weekend finished off with a lazy Sunday--- I got a (much needed) pedicure, went grocery shopping and got some new underwear at Victoria's Secret---they let me use 3 coupons so I paid for 3 pairs (the lacie) and got 3 pairs for free of the low-rise lace hip-huggers! Score!  Thank you VS :)

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
