Our 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day! We started our day off today with coffee, breakfast, lots of play and too many books to count.
After coffee, Harps and me went on a long walk in the neighborhood while Kevin went to workout.
strollin' is serious business, y'all!

Then I remembered I had this adorable headband from @shopislarose on IG and I was able to re-size it to fit Harper's head now. So cute!
Before we left for a friend's BBQ, we took some family photos outside with the DSLR. I love iPhone pics, but it's nice to use a better camera once in awhile. Harper just wanted down the whole time so she could eat play with rocks. As soon as this girl gets outdoors, she wants to roam freely. I mean, who wouldn't?

We had fun at a July 4th BBQ hosted by some of Kevin's longtime friends. Harper loved all of the toys everywhere--- the hosts have a 5 year old boy so it was cars, dinosaurs and airplanes, galore! Of course I had to watch her like a hawk because there were little mini soldiers everywhere. This girl tries to eat everything. Thankfully she spared those poor figurines the wrath of her drool.
Hope you and your family enjoyed your 4th of July!

Our (Easter) Sunday!

Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

We had a fun-filled family day that started with an early breakfast for Harper and then driving to church for the Easter service.
On Saturday night I realized I still had our "Spring is Here" chalkboard up and I had wanted to draw a new one for Easter. I was tired, but I googled some ideas and got to work using my new Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk

My husband and I were watching Orphan Black (we just started the first season, and it's amazing) so I drew it while we watched (multitasking!)  It took me about 20-25 minutes to finish it, but it was well worth it, I think. Harper actually noticed it this morning and pointed at it and smiled, it was so sweet! She continued to point at it later today too. She points at absolutely everything now, it's too cute!

After church we headed to brunch with Candice at The Glass Wall in the heights and the food was delish! I had the braised beef breakfast tacos.
smiling AND looking at the camerascore!

After brunch, my in-laws came to visit and we all watched Harper open her Easter baskets. It was so fun watching her explore the new things she received! We also watched Frozen (again) as Harper took a beautifully long 2-hour nap.
I hope you and your family had fun celebrating!

Our (Easter) Saturday

We had such a fun family day today enjoying Houston's beautiful weather. First, we headed to an Easter gathering at a local park and enjoyed a little time in the sun:
After the park we headed to one of our favorite lunch/brunch spots, Empire Cafe, in the Montrose area. Kevin and I split the eggs benedict and italian toast (which is unreal amazing!) and Harper had some fruit I brought from home. You literally cannot eat in front of her and not feed her too, even if she's eaten recently. She loves food so much.
Then we headed over the to the Pavilion for Women in the med center. When we had Harper, our hospital photographer came and shot some photos in our room a couple of days after she was born. When I came back from maternity leave our marketing director told me one of our photos was going up on the building! Ours was the first time ever a father has been on the building so that was pretty cool (before it was always just women and moms with babies). There are several billboards on the building and they are all employees/babies of employees and not models. I love that!

After being up for nearly a year, they are being changed out next week so we decided to snap some photos as a memory.
We stopped into a local shop to check out travel strollers again and I think we are going to go with the Mountain Buggy Nano. I will probably order it from amazon next week.

Then we came home, had a little nap and played. Harper's hair is really growing in as you can see below! I totally think she's going to have a baby mullet because her back hair grows so much faster. Party in the back! Lol.
(headband thanks to Willow Crowns)

Hope you had a happy Saturday!

PS- I think we can all agree that Harper's passport is the cutest in all of the land!
