Birthday BBQ for Harper!

My mom and her husband hosted a birthday BBQ for Harper and we had the best time seeing our friends and many of my mom's friends.

The party was really fun and it was special to see some of my closest friends meet my sweet girl for the very first time.

Harper is in a phase right now where she has a tougher time warming up to new people and needs some time before someone can hold her and before she will be her usual playful self. About 1.5-2 hours into the party she went down for a nap after eating and when she woke up she was smiling, laughing, clapping and running around all over the place. I think it's a lot for her to be in a new place with lots of new people and a different routine so I'm happy she is adjusting well even when she gets a little shy when meeting new people.

Harper LOVES my mom's backyard and porch so she hung out while everything was set up for the party...
 Then we took selfies...
Then Harper played some tunes on the radio...
 and helped arrange the drinks...
It was the first time Harper met Maja's sweet Doutzen who is five months old! Her expression sure doesn't say it, but they got along great!
The "exagerrated laugh" photo
the cake balls that Maja madethey were amazing!
sharing a laugh and telling what looks to be an intense story, haha...
Harper trying to run away with a stolen cake pop...

Have a great week!

Harper's First Birthday- Party Pics

I posted a breakdown of Harper's first birthday party decor and DIY projects in my last post, and this post will be dedicated to sharing some of my favorite images from the day (and be warned, there are many). We were so excited that we had so many friends and family members come out to celebrate Harper, definitely felt a lot of joy and love in the room.

I'm thrilled to have such a wide array of candid photos from the day that really captured all of the moments and connections in the room. Big thanks to all of our friends and family members who made Harper and us feel so special that day. We had such a blast celebrating our ONE year old baby girl!
...about to sing "Happy Birthday!"

loves the sweetsa girl of my own heart!

Happy first birthday sweet Harper! We love you very very much!
