Our Weekend...

This weekend was fun, but I'm exhaustedmore so than anytime in recent memory. As I mentioned in a previous post, work was crazy this past week and I've been working a lot from home in the evenings and over the weekend. It's to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open and I'm going to crash way early tonight (I actually took a cat nap on the couch before I wrote this post).

Saturday morning we had the brilliant idea to go for an early walk and take Harper to the park. It got hotter and more humid by the minute, but she had a little fun before we left. And I got some super cute photos of this growing girl (seriously, when did she get so big?) Also, why do children try to eat rocks?
top (sold out) + shorts- baby gap- on sale for $7.99!  |  vest- old navy (in khaki)  (similar) (love this for fall)  |  shoes- zara kids (old/clearance) (similar) |  hat- old navy (similar) (another cute option)
Later that afternoon we met up with Amanda, Ben and sweet Cami for a play date/lunch date. The Children's Museum is always a fun time for the girls.

We had lunch at Local Foods in the Village. We just love the food there and Amanda and Ben had never been.
How sweet are these bows Amanda made for Harper? I've blogged about her shop before when she was doing a fundraiser for the NICU---you can check out her latest offerings on her shop's Facebook page "Squishy Cheeks BOWtique."
Megan came over Saturday night and we sipped tea and painted our nails with Essie's "after school boy blazer." It's a beautiful, rich navy that I got from last year's fall H-E-B package and I'm still obsessed. The formula is beyond perfect---very pigmented and goes on so smooth and stays shiny! A must-have for fall and you can buy here.
I wish I could tell you about our Sundaybut really, it just involved a lot of caffeine, some poorly-timed naps, a brief visit to work and lots of eating. I hope your weekend was great!

Our Weekend...

Our Saturday morning started bright and early with Harper's Little Gym class. If you're on the fence about it, we---and most importantly our little one--- LOVES it. Every week there is a new skill, group activity, free play etc. There are all kinds of songs and fun games. This week the skill was walking backwards and we went on the balance beam. I love that the program is a good mix of structure and free play. It's really fun to see what she's into exploring each week. It's also a great way to meet other families with children the same age who live in your area.
Harper's top (note that it is indeed a shirt, not a dress that would go to the knees) is the kite flutter top from Baby Gap, currently on sale for $16.99 + an additional 30% off (buy here).
I just adore the print on this shirt!  I paired it with these striped ruffle bloomers so she could move around and play freely. Here she is doing a bear crawl during class, looking adorable.
...and here she is putting the balls back into the bin. She's loved "putting things away" for awhile now. I even taught her how to throw things in the garbage, like old mail, wrappers, things like that. This weekend she took her PJ's and threw them in the garbage. It was a fun lesson learning the difference between garbage and laundry, haha!
This morning we had brunch with Candice and played and read a ton of books (seriously, I feel like we read all day long---not complaining because I love it, it is her favorite activity right now!)

Harper is also remembering her books more. I asked her to bring me "The Cat in the Hat" and she found it and brought it to me so I could read it to her.

After brunch, around noon, Harper had her nap but woke up at 1. She was so fussy and exhausted that I brought her to our bed and laid next to her so she could sleep another hour. She did, and she looked angelic and woke up much happier. Poor baby is teething so badly right now.
Later today we met up with some friends and their sweet daughter Cami at the Children's Museum of Houston. It was Harper's first time to go and she absolutely LOVED it.
Harper is doing better with sharing this week and gave a ball to Cami when askedshe did have a meltdown later when she tried to take a toy from another young girl and I had to give it back to the girl and explain that we don't take things. I was the parent everyone felt sorry for as my child writhed on the floor screaming as if in pain. Thank God it only lasted a minute and then she was off exploring something else.

As you can tell by the photos, a blast was had by all! We purchased a yearly membership for our family so we could go back whenever we'd like to. It's a great place for play dates and when the weather isn't great. It allows the babies to get out a lot of energy, learn and explore but you can also enjoy your time chatting with your friends as you watch your kiddos.

Hope your weekend was great!
