Family Photos!

A few weeks ago, I shared a little summary of our recent family photo session. Basically, it was a total disaster. Harper decided she wasn't having it and had meltdowns and tantrums until we left. #toddlerlife, for real.

Our photographer, Crystal, from Crystal Lynn Photography (I found her via Marissa at The Simple Swan!) assured us that she got some good shots despite the limited time and non-screaming/crying facial expressions.

I was plesantly surprised by the photos and I'm excited to share them with you! Though I wish there were more that captured Harper's true personality (the sweet, happy, mischevious and funny girl we know)--- they sure did capture how she felt at the time they were being taken and I think we will look back on them and have a giggle--- and they'll definitely make it into a wedding slideshow.

This was cute--- she spotted some dolls in a window of a store and smiled for a few moments!

Tory Burch Friends & Family Sale + What I Bought

While scrolling through my Facebook feed yesterday, I noticed a few friends posted about Tory Burch's Friends & Family Sale (take 25% off using code FRIENDLIEST).

All of the new fall stuff is in and I fell in love with Thea Convertible Tote in black.

I haven't purchased a handbag since I got my LV Neverfull when I was pregnant. I didn't see the need--- my NV was great for work, travel, etc. I actually feel guilty even looking at bags because I really love my LV. However, my LV is very large (I have the GM) and I do want to add a bag to my collection that is classic---but slightly smaller than my LV.

What attracted me to this bag was several things--- its classic black color, the fact that it can be carried by its handles or crossbody with the chain, its large (but not huge) size and the subtle logoand of course, the tassels. I have not seen this bag in person so I'm hoping I will love it just as much when it arrives. I can always return it if I don't love it as much in person, but I had to snag it up during the promo since TB doesn't discount very often. I will let you all know what I think when the bag arrives!

In honor of this fantastic Tory Burch sale, here are a few other favorite items of mine:

Happy Shopping!

Recent Purchases For Mama + Toddler

It's been a little while since I've shared some new purchases and these all seemed to arrive around the same time so I decided to do a little round-up.

First, I'll share today's outfit, which includes one of my purchases- a softened chambray top from LOFT. They have a 40% off sale going on right now so I snagged some stuff this week and the shipping was crazy-fast!
shirt- LOFT |  necklace- kendra scott  |  pants- banana republic (on sale!) |  shoes- nine west
A note on this shirt--- I ordered the small tall and love the way it fits! It's just the right length and it's a nice slim fit through the body. To be honest, prior to the last couple of months, I can't remember the last time I shopped at LOFT, but they are killin' it this season. Plus, they're offering more styles online in tall so that's been a motivator for me to check out their offerings. I do find LOFT runs very short for tops, so for taller gals or ones with long torsos, the tall options online are a huge reason to check out what's available.

I also purchased this fantastic leopard-print dress with 3/4 sleeves. It looks so great on and is incredibly comfortable. It took me a few tries to get the right size on this one. I initially ordered a medium tall and it fit like a large. So I ordered a small and extra small tall and kept the small tall. Size down on this one if you're between sizes. I also love the second leopard print dress below!
I also liked these two dresses but didn't order them because they don't come in tall---wish they did or they'd be in my cart!

The white shirt on the left is fantastic- I got it in a small tall and it's a nice slim fit and easy to tuck into a pencil skirt. I also love that it's collarless. You can see it in a recent post, here. The leopard shirt is a nice option if you'd rather add a print on top only and I just love the black and white checked shirt---It's perfect for fall layering.

Next up, I got a gray mixed-media shirt and the chambray I showed in today's outfit. I also love the crisp white shirt shown here---what a lovely neckline. I got the mixed media top in size medium.
I also purchased this pretty necklace with pink and crystal stones. I just couldn't resist how pretty it looked against the new tops!

Let me know what you think of my picks! I think they're really simple pieces and will blend seamlessly with the rest of my wardrobe.

I made an online order at Zara recently for Harper. I haven't been loving a lot of pieces in Baby Gap's toddler collection for the past couple of months (I got a few items here and there) and I'm tired of the dusty pink color they're carrying right now. I picked up:

(anything with a print will show less stains from all of Harper's daycare fun!)
because they're stretchy and can accommodate plenty of baby roll goodness!
I hope you like my picks! Happy weekend shopping :)

Dressing for Fall with No nonsense

Houston has a season I like to call fall, but not really. Its October, and the temperatures are still pretty warm compared to the rest of the country. Style-wise, fall is my favorite season because I love to layer, and as the temperatures get a little cooler, Im excited to start showcasing outfits that have a little more to em.
Today Im sharing a few style remix outfits showing how I incorporate tights by No nonsense into some of my fall looks. I wear tights with my skirts and dresses all winter because I hate it when my legs are cold (which is basically all the time), so tights are an essential part of my fall/winter wardrobe.
I prefer opaque tights, and today Im showing two looks styled with No nonsenses Super Opaque Tights in navy --- one more casual and another for the office.
For my office look, I paired my tights with a lace pencil skirt, tucked-in collarless shirt and striped blazer along with a classic pair of mightlight blue pumps.shirt- LOFT  |  skirt- zara (old) (similar and 40% off!)  |  tights- no nonsense  |  shoes- banana republic  |  bracelet- j.crew  |  blazer- zara (old) (nearly identical for $50! + another cute option)
In my casual look (something Id wear on a weekend in cooler weather), I paired my tights with a casual dress, utility vest and some flat boots.

The other products I was able to try from No nonsense are their Corduroy Leggings and their Cotton Leggings in Houndstooth. I pretty much live in leggings when Im not at work --- in fact, as soon as I get home, the first thing I do is change out of my work clothes into a pair of leggings and a comfy, loose tee or sweater. No nonsense products are easy to find at Nononsense.com as well as at major food and drug stores.

Here are the cordoroys leggings. They're so stretchy and you can roll down the waistband if you like a lower rise.
I also love the No nonsense Rugged Boot Socks I received. Theyre a unique color and look great popping out of booties when its not cold enough to wear full-on tights but you still want a cute fall look. Its a nice way to carry over your spring and summer dresses or to wear with cropped pants.Do you wear tights in the fall and winter? What styles do you like? Opaque, sheer, printedall of the above? Share your favorite styles in the comments below for a chance to win a $100 No nonsense gift card!
