Navy + Royal

Blue is one of my most loved colors. It looks good on everyone and best of all, various shades of blue from deep navy to the lightest blue all look great mixed and matched together.

This cobalt blue dress continues to be a favorite in my closet. I wore it yesterday and paired it with a navy blazer and added a pop of yellow with my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace.

#StitchFix Vacay Part I

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that a couple of weeks ago I went to San Francisco on a blogger's trip with StitchFix. When I first got the email inviting me on the trip, I immediately forwarded it to my husband and put in the subject line "this can't be real, right?" LOL.

It was the BEST trip! I met so many awesome women including Erin from Living in Yellow, Jen from Jen Loves Kev, Natalia from Ma Nouvelle Mode, Kilee from One Little Momma, Molly from Still Being Molly and Jill from Baby Rabies.

I also got to learn a lot about a great company---and I can't wait to share more of that with you! I've decided to break my posts into day one, two and three so they're easier to follow. Let's start with my departure from Houston...

I literally had the best. flight. ever. I was on a full plane and somehow by God's great mercy, I had an entire row of three seats to myself. I took a late evening flight so I had some coffee and did some light reading�and tried to catch a few zzz's, too (on second thought, maybe that coffee was poorly planned).

I was the last to arrive at the house StitchFix rented for us (we were in the Haight/Ashbury area). There were little arrows up the stairs of the house and notes that said to go to the rooftop patio and so I followed the arrows and met all the girls. We sipped some champagne and eventually we all went to sleep so we could get some rest before our day began the next morning. There were 7 bedrooms, so Kilee and I shared a room (we had bunk beds!) It was fun + our room had its own shower (bonus!)

Wednesday morning we all got ready and headed out to StitchFix's headquarters. Their office is beautiful---really open-concept and no cubicles! 

We took a tour of headquarters and met some of the lead stylists�StitchFix hired a fantastic photographer to capture shots of our trip---and some are also from my iPhone and from Molly.

StitchFix (both HQ and the warehouse) have cereal bars, snacks areas and huge fridges full of drinks and delicious snacks like string cheese and hummus with crackers. I would seriously eat all day long if I worked there!

Some of the lead stylists were showing us some of the new fall inventory and it was really exciting to see all of the different items that were available. They obviously cater to so many different styles and seeing what kind of items were available really made me think about how I could enhance my own style profile to help my stylist select pieces I'll love. I plan to share more tips on how to optimize your style profile in my next post. StitchFix has very specific questions they ask when you're setting up your profile---but you can also add your own notes and link to a Pinterest board with looks you love to give your stylist even more direction. More on that later!

Here are some of my favorite items from the presentation:

After the tour of HQ, we had a picnic lunch at the park and it was absolutely beautiful. The StitchFix team did such an amazing job of making us feel welcome and pampered for the entire duration of the trip--- every detail was thought of--- from having things like shampoo and toothpaste and sweet gift bags and cake + champagne at the house when we arrived--- to bringing cushions for us to sit on at lunch because the grass was a little wet. The ladies at SF are awesome! I'm so thankful for their wonderful hospitality. And the tissue flowers below were made by some of the girls at SF---aren't they gorgeous? They used the same book I own to create these pretty blooms. Check it out here!

After lunch, we were taken (in a huge van!) to some of the city's best tourist spots since some of us hadn't been to SF before. I really enjoyed being driven through the city and visiting some of the most popular sites. Plus, I got to do it all with these ladies, so it was even more fun!

After touring the city, we had a couple of hours to decompress and get ready for dinner. We ate at a delicious Mexican restaurant and then we headed home for more fun and chatting back at the house. It was really lovely getting to know all of these ladies and learning more about them and their families.

San Francisco is such a beautiful city. I've never seen anything like it. Architecturally, the houses are my favorite style. When I was younger, I had a San-Franciscan style dollhouse with all of those beautiful Victorian details so to see those stunning homes in person was quite the sight. As you might imagine, those houses cost millions of dollars, ha.

I loved the city so much that I would love to visit again in the future with my family. StitchFix was so wonderful to take us all around the city and incorporate those fun tourist sites into our days--- it really made the trip even more incredible than I expected.

Next up will be Part II of the trip--- that includes a visit to the StitchFix warehouse and an amazing photo shoot at SF's studios. Seriously, y'all, they made us feel like a million bucks.

I'm really humbled and appreciative that I was invited to be a part of this experience. I hadn't used StitchFix prior to getting my first fix before the trip and though I had heard of it, I had never pulled the trigger. Now that I've seen all that goes into servicing each and every customer and how much the company has grown in just the few years it has existed (which means more brands and styles), I'm really excited to get my next fix (it comes October 29th!).
