When I saw this striped skirt at Madewell a few weeks ago when I went to the store to exchange a dress I ordered online, my heart skipped a beat. It's exactly what my closet needed. A fresh silhouette and an interesting bronze-y color. It's even more beautiful in person. The best part? It was an additional 40% off of the marked down price.
Though I love pencil skirts, I was getting bored of wearing them constantly (which is why I'm wearing pants a lot) and I wanted to get a skirt that was different from everything else in my closet. I can already tell this will be one of my most loved items this year!
A note on fit---I went down a size for this one. Since it's worn at the waist, I had to go down to a 2 for the proper fit (no gaping). So if you're considering it, I would recommend sizing down. The fuller skirt is more forgiving anyway, but you want it snug at the waist so it's not spinning around or falling down your waist as you wear it.
I'll also mention my love for J.Crew's keeper chambray shirt. I ordered it in a 4T and love love love that it comes in tall because it's easier to tuck into skirts and pants. It also has a subtle light pink threading which is a fun touch.
For those of you who didn't see on my IG, I put a large mirror that used to be in our master in our living room. I think it opens up the space, Harper loves to look at herself when she's on her play mat and it's easier/better lighting for me to snap outfit photos.
