Review: Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner & Giveaway

When you have long hair like I do, one of the most important things you can do is to make sure you condition it every time you wash it so that you can add moisture back into your hair and smooth the hair cuticle (especially if you are a fan of heat-styling).

I tend to favor deep conditioning masques (like my beloved Macadamia hair mask) but I also alternate in other conditioners so my hair doesn't get too used to any one product.

Last month, I had the chance to test out Dove's Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner.  I was not familiar with the brand's haircare line, but their sensitive skin bar soap is my ultimate holy grail soap, so I thought it would be fun to test out the hair care range.  Plus, I like to test out drugstore brand products as often as I can because I know that not all of my readers can afford or want to purchase expensive hair care products and are looking for inexpensive products that work.

Dove describes their Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner as a  dual-action formula that helps prevent split ends and breakage by nourishing the hair and sealing lifted cuticles.

The formula is white and creamy- not too thick but not at all thin or watery. I tend to favor a creamier/heavier conditioner so the consistency was in line with what I tend to enjoy with conditioners.

One of the best things about this conditioner is the smell. I can't quite put my finger on what the scent is, but it's very clean---not floral or fruity or anything else...it's just a nice scent.

When I use it, I take about a two quarter size dollop and apply it from the nape of my neck down to the ends of my hair, focusing primarily on the ends. Then, I wash the rest of my body with body wash while I let it seep deeper into my hair.

When a couple of minutes have passed, I rinse it out and finish up my shower.  Then, I proceed with my blowout as always.  Overall, I really like this conditioner and will leave it in my shower to be included in my rotation.

Dove's Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner is available at most drugstores and major retailers and the price is extremely good for a nourishing conditioner.
