From Desk to Dinner- Styling Banana Republic's New Collection

When you work in an office, it's important to have pieces in your wardrobe that can transition from day to night.  You'll get more wear out of the item and it will become a staple piece in your closet.

When Banana Republic contacted me about their new Desk to Dinner collection, which features work-worthy styles that easily transition to dinner-ready ensembles, I was thrilled to style the accordion pleat skirt from the collection.

Transitioning this versatile skirt from desk to dinner was a cinch---it was as simple as switching up a top and swapping out accessories.  The pleats make it both a classic piece in your wardrobe and a fun and flirty piece for a post-work happy hour or date night.

The first outfit I styled for the office was very classic---the crisp white shirt was a perfect pairing with the pleated navy skirt. I also added a skinny leopard belt to cinch the waist.

For dinner/evening, I simply swapped in a neon pink tank and added a glittery gold belt, turquoise earrings and a pave chain bracelet. I also added some open-toe heels.

I had a lot of fun styling this skirt.  If you are interested in purchasing one, I recommend sizing down. I am wearing a size small, but could have gone down to an extra small because the waist is elastic.  I absolutely love the length of this skirt. It's well made and is very flattering on a lot of body types.

How do YOU take pieces in your wardrobe from desk to dinner? Let me know in the comments below!

PS- BR is also partnering with Bon Apptit and Open Table to give you exclusive access to a curated selection of Bon Apptit-approved summer dining spots in five cities: New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Miami.

My next outfit is also an office-appropriate pick, but I added a pop of color with a collar-less silk blouse.  I chose a gold studded belt to play off of the gold buttons on the top and kept the nude heels to elongate the leg.
